Many research studies have found that some can provide natural pain relief – whether applied topically or inhaled (such as via a diffuser).

The most promising ones include:

- Lavender Oil: More commonly known for it's calming and mood stabilizing effects, this oil has been found through placebo controlled clinical trials to help mitigate the pain associated with tension and headaches/ migrains. It has been discovered that Lavender oil, may offer antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits which would help relieve pain, overall making this one of the top choices for mental and physical health!

- Rosemary Oil: This handy herb which is found easily in your kitchen also has been identified as an oil that may relieve pain. Researchers have found that this herb can stimulate opiod receptors in the brain which impact our ability to feel and sense pain. In a clinical trial which was done in 2013 with 81 patients, researchers found that this particular oil helped reduce pain in people who were suffering from opium withdrawals.

- Peppermint Oil: This oil is comprised of active pain-relieving compounds including carvacrol, menthol, and limonene. Because of these compounds, people often will use this oil by diluting it and rubbing it directly on the spots that feel sore or tense.

-Eucalyptus Oil: Studies have found that eucalyptus essential oil can help reduce swelling and inflammation associated with pain.

The Key with Essential oils is that you get what you pay for. Better purity and quality, will not be cheap but does ensure no additive are used.As we say here "Health Is Wealth," so what could be a better investment?

If you want to get any beneficial health effects from any essential oils, forget about using cheap brands or products. Always look for 100% Organic and if possible buy therapeutic grade. A little bit will go a long way so it will pay off!

Also some things to consider when using oils, while they are super safe especially compared to many more traditional remedies such as prescription medications and over the counter pain meds, some essential oils may cause skin irritation or other issues when applied directly to the skin. Always test on a smaller patch of skin prior to utilizing and consider mixing it with a high quality "carrier" oil like CBD cannabis oil, hemp seed oil or coconut oil. Use these carrier oils to dilute the essential oil.

While the above mentioned can help relieve pain temporarily, do not underestimate what the cause of the issue could be to begin with. If your body is experiencing tension, pain and inflammation, do not ignore this. There could be health dangers linked to your indoor environments such as 'off-gassing' of paints, mattresses, carpets and other home/office building materials, which research has shown increase your risk of headaches, dementia, heart disease, and cancer.
